Anyone know any good basic dinner recipes without any weird ingredients, THANKS?

I like old fashion recipies with basic ingredients, I'm a meat and 3 veg type of girl but would like to change it up a wee bit but without all the strange ingredients.Anyone know any good basic dinner recipes without any weird ingredients, THANKS?
Crock pot pork recipe that can be easily done in the oven.

Cut up a bunch of yams or sweet potatoes or both, about 1 inch thick. (say a couple of pounds worth, maybe more)

Scatter them on the bottom of your crock pot (or dutch oven or roasting pan for the oven).

Plunk down a pork roast on top of the sweet potato / yam (2-3 pound roast, shoulder is best but I've used all sorts of cuts)

Mix about 1/2 cup packed brown sugar with a dash of cayenne (1/4 teaspoon max), mix in some salt and pepper and a clove of garlic (minced)

Pour and pat this on top of the roast, cover and cook low 8-10 hours crock pot, 2 hours or so for oven.

And that's it. May not seem like much but it is one of my favourite dishes and I don't even like pork as a general rule. And no, don't add any liquid to the pot or anything. Throw it in the oven or crockpot and forget it. Yummy!Anyone know any good basic dinner recipes without any weird ingredients, THANKS?

Roast Rack of Lamb with Garlic Mash

This is really easy and very yummy :

1. Salt and pepper the rack of lamb really well and pre-heat the oven to 200C. Pop the lamb into a roasting tin and cover tightly with tin foil. Slam the lamb into the oven and roast for 12-14 minutes.

2. Put the potatoes on to boil as usual and then drain and mash with butter and milk and a really good squeeze of garlic puree. Beat them til they're fluffy.

3. Cut the lamb into separate cutlets and serve with the garlic potatoes and whatever green veg you like.

It's really quick and easy and tastes wonderful.

Chicken Tetrazzini

1 C. chicken broth (I used boullion cube)

small onion, chopped

small green pepper, chopped

1 Cup of cheddar cheese

3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cooked %26amp; cubed

Cooked spaghettti noodles.

Mix soups, broth, veggies. add cooked spaghetti and chicken and cheese, put in a 9 x13, bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 min. Very easy and basic ingredient recipe.
This chicken casserole is so good. It's my momma's recipe, and the only kind anybody I know will eat!

3 chicken breasts boiled

1 can cream of chicken

1 can cream of mushroom

1 8oz jar of sour cream

1 sleeve Ritz crackers

Boil your chicken, then shred into pieces in the bottom of a casserole dish. Mix the soups and sour cream with the chicken, and stir well. Then crumble Ritz crackers all over the top and dot with butter. Bake it on 350 for about 30 min or until bubbly! You can serve that with rolls, mac and cheese, green beans, mashed potatoes, corn, anything you want!
Have you thought of maybe playing with the seasonings? I still make pork chops every week, but I do them different each week. One week I will bread them, next time cook them in apple juice, a dash of garlic, a splash of worcheshire sauce, some sage and pepper, I'll cook them up with some Teriyaki sauce and pineapple...

Change is always good, but it is nice to have the classics.

Good luck. :)

mix 1 can condensed french onion soup with one can cheddar cheese soup and pour mixture over chops and potatoes. bake on 350-375 until potatoes are tender and chops are cooked through.

funny thing is, the gravy tastes nothing like onions or cheese, but it's really really good.
