Hello, I just completed my first week of weight watchers. I lost an initial 6lbs for my first week. So far the only challenge that I see in the future is my dinner plan. I was able to pull off eating different meals than my family for this week but I don't think it's very probable for that to continue. I'm looking for fellow weight watchers who also have to cook for a husband and children and looking for sample dinners with recipes and points values. Nothing strange or extravagant, I have to cook for 3 boys :) Any ideas?Looking for fellow weight watchers for help with dinner recipes?
I do feel for you, I am on weight watcher as well, I have lost 46lbs in 2 months. The result of me eating differently and not cooking the fattening dinners I used to cook for my husband, is that my husband has lost 10 pounds without even trying. I never really got ahold of any good recipes to cook for my husband and I. I have seen the Weight Watchers cookbook at Borders and Barnes and Noble. I glanced at it and all the recipes looked yummy but I didn't buy it. You should invest in that cookbook I think you would get alot of use out of it. As for me I just stick to salad for dinner. Keep up the good work and remember watch your points and go to the meetings!Looking for fellow weight watchers for help with dinner recipes?
I have the BEST recipe for WW. Hopefully you like shrimp. I have cooked this for several people and no one could believe that it was a WW recipe. Most thought it was better than a restaurant could make. Please keep in mind that the trick to this recipe is FRESH everything (garlic, lemon juice, etc).
GARLIC BAKED SHRIMP
Cooking Spray
1 1/4 Lb. Medium (uncooked) shrimp (peeled and deveined)1/2 c. Bread Crumbs
3 Tsp. Parsley (finely chopped) FRESH
1 Tsp. Lemon rind (grated) FRESH
1/4 Tsp. Salt
3 Cloves of garlic (minced) FRESH
2 Tsp. Fresh lemon juice
4 Tsp. Olive Oil%26gt;
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Coat 4 individual dishes in spray. Divide shrimp among dishes and set aside. Combine bread crumbs, parsley, lemon rind,salt and garlic. Stir in oil and juice. Sprinkle crumb mixture over shrimp. Bake at 400 13-15 minutes, until crumbs are browned. Makes 4 servings. 5 points per serving
I serve with no yolk egg noodles. I have several more recipes if you are interested, please contact me and I would be more than glad to share.
